This gallery contains 8 collections of photographs taken during the Isle of Man Centurion 100 mile Walk and RWA Long Distance Championship 2006 at the Isle of Man's National Sports Centre on 19 & 20 August 2006.
In total there are more than 1200 photos!
Starting at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon, it was walked over 131 laps of a road and track course and organised by the Isle of Man Veteran Athletes Club.
Manx Harrier Sean Hands successfully defended his title but suffered agony during the last twenty miles or so - a mixture of general fatigue and a bad back.
Sanda Brown (incredibly) completed her 21st centurion 100 miles in second position ahead of another woman, the eversmiling Canadian/Manx Sue Biggart.

Congratulations to everyone who completed this amazing race and to the organisers and helpers who did a fantastic job. There will always be the odd snag but overall the host club overcame a number of bureaucratic obstacles to produce an extremely well organised show.
Congratulations to everyone who completed the course and well done to those who made gallant attempts but failed.

Sorry that I couldn't photo everyone crossing the line but congratulations to everyone. The top ten were Sean Hands (1), Sandra Brown (8), Sue Biggart (6), Marcelino Sobczak (69), Kevin Marshal (57), Michael George (32), Eammon Harkin (38), Jock Waddington (78), Catherine Lowey (55) and Frank Gulik (35).
